Diving in Costa Rica

Get ready to visit those creatures that live in the deep blue water -- diving in Costa Rica is something that every tourist must do.

There are few things more impressive in the world than seeing all of those species that go about their daily lives within the sea. Most of us never think about the fact that there are thousands of creatures living in the ocean, and many of those creatures have not even been discovered yet. If you want to see a large number of them, diving in Costa Rica is the way to do it. As with any other sport, some places are better than others, so make sure to write down all of the spots listed below before you go.

If you happen to be on the Pacific Coast, check out Playas del Coco, Playa Hermosa, and Playa Ocotal. In this area, you can expect to see manta rays, lots of tropical fish, and the occasional shark. Other idea areas within the Pacific Coast region include Bahia Drake, and the Isla del Cano. The Isla del Cano is actually something quite magnificent, since this area includes sharks, turtles, and lots of other interesting species. In fact, the Isla del Cano is the best place within the entire country to scuba dive since it is home to 18 types of coral, 3 types of dolphin and over 57 different types of crustaceans.

While some people enjoy the Caribbean Coast, this area is largely under developed, which means that you must be a professional diver to venture into these waters. Since parts of the Caribbean Coast were damaged by an earthquake a few years ago, this area tends to be slightly dangerous. If you are going to visit this area, make sure to notify someone of your whereabouts, though it is not recommended that you venture into these waters. For the most part, diving in Costa Rica is both adventurous and fun thanks to the many shops that are set up along the water’s edge.

If you have been to other tropical destinations before, you may have found that learning how to dive was somewhat complex. However, this is not the case in this country. Many different shops offer diving lessons, and all of them are more than willing to take their time teaching you how to dive properly.

Should you venture towards this tropical haven, make sure to visit those creatures living in the sea. Diving in Costa Rica is something that you will never forget, so give it a shot while you are there.
