Golf in Costa Rica

Curious about golf in Costa Rica? This country has an up a coming sports scene that you wouldn’t believe. Below, you will find some helpful information when it comes to your putting trip.

Many years ago, golf in Costa Rica was relatively unheard of. Then, all of a sudden, tourists began discovering this country and the sport took off like wildfire. It seems only fitting that many different courses would line the lush green hills that surround most parts of this country, and golfing through such a beautiful scene couldn’t be more perfect. Since this country enjoys lots of great weather and an amazing amount of wildlife, you’ll soon discover that the courses there are unlike any others. To help you decide where to go, you’ll find a concise list of the best courses below.

The first course worthy of your attention is Playa Grande. This course is located at the Ranco Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, and it was designed by Ron Garl in 1997. You’ll find that the front nine is complete with picturesque fairways and lots of different water hazards while the back nine is clustered amongst a bit of rocky earth. The Costa Rica Country Club offers nine holes, and it happens to be the very first course that was ever built in this country. Designed in 1944, The Costa Rica Country Club is a true challenge.

Another fantastic course is located at the Cariari Country Club. This course offers eighteen holes of pure bliss. Cariari was designed by George Fazio in 1974, and it has been challenging golfers ever since. Interestingly, Cariari is built on top of a piece of land that used to be a coffee plantation, so history really comes alive while playing this course. Lastly, Parque Valle del Sol extends its eighteen holes with lush open arms. Designed by Tracy D. May in 1997, this course offers lots of little islands, tons of miniature trees, and a large amount of wetlands and lakes. As you can see, golf in Costa Rica is truly worth at least two days of your vacation time.

While you may not associate golf with this country, once you book your course time you’ll find that it’s hard to leave. Sunshine, lots of lush land, beautiful scenery, and true serenity – golfing never looked so good.

Book your golf in Costa Rica vacation now (courses fill up quickly), and enjoy those memories for a lifetime.
